Enyimba striker, Chimezie Amanfor has said his side have shifted attention towards finishing second on the log and pocketing one of the two Caf Champions League tickets available.
Two straight road defeats at Kano Pillars in Lokoja and Sunshine Stars in Akure have rubbished the People's Elephant campaign for a double after winning the 2013 Federation Cup.
Enyimba will host Sharks in the last season's Glo Premier League Matchday 38 encounter at the Enyimba International Stadium on Sunday.
Amanfor said his side's ambition have shifted towards claiming the second spot that will guarantee them a Caf Champions League ticket.
"Our claim for the title started slipping off our hands in the 0-1 loss to Kano Pillars in Lokoja before Wednesday's defeat at Sunshine Stars in Akure.
"Our dream have been to make it a double but that won't happen again as the only realistic chance to finish strongly in the ongoing league is to finish as second best.
"We'll strive to finish second so as to qualify for the Caf Champions League.
"Though we have the Caf Confederation Cup ticket in our hands our focus and preference have been on the Champions League ticket.
"Sharks are a strong side but I don't think they'll be able to stop us from picking the three points at stake.
"We'll win the game against Sharks so as to end the season on a high," said the former Akwa United man to supersport.com.
Enyimba are fourth on the log on 59 points, four points behind leaders, Kano Pillars. Enyimba's win against Sharks will not automatically make them the second placed side as the outcome of the ties involving Gombe United and Bayelsa United as well as Enugu Rangers and El-Kanemi Warriors could change the colouration.
